Chapter 11: Morality

Image
Chapter 11:Overview "People are different. What's good for one may not be good for another." (p.4) https://pixabay.com/vectors/right-wrong-typography-text-8078091/     I think this quote explains morality perfectly, people are all different, and what one may thing is something good, will not be the same as another. I think people are always going to see what will work best for them, and everything will not be the same for the next person. It is all going to be according to what is the perspective of a person. I think most choices are going to be motivated for the better of self. Sometimes we see others striving and successful. We see something working for them, we start to think the same thing will work for us.       I think just because something works for one person does not mean that is the same fit for you. Thats why people say the phrase " the grass aint always greener". Which to me means it might look like its good for them, but sometimes things...

Chapter 6: Music

Image
Chapter 6: Overview "Harmony, indicates a connection between music and the structure of the universe"(p.2) https://pixabay.com/illustrations/love-heart-music-grades-clef-1077816/          I think this quote allows us to know the exact connection for what music is. It gives us an idea of what a person actually feels when listening to music. I think the harmony is also a portion of music we remember the most. Gets repeated and it allows us to be able to connect with the music and the universe. Listening to music is always going to be interpreted differently, however the harmony, as the quote mentions will be the part of universal connection with the universe.       It creates structure to good music. Even when we harmonize a song without any lyrics, its usually an indication of the basis of the entire song. I think this shows although music is very broad, it will still have a harmony, and that will be received universally no matter what b...

Chapter 5: Art

Image
Chapter 5: Overview "The Renaissance would become a vast movement encompassing not only art but also drama, music, and politics" (p.11) https://pixabay.com/illustrations/woman-princess-female-renaissance-3296786/     This quote is very interesting because to me it describes how the renaissance era was very entertaining. This quote shows that during this time there was all different forms of art. However this specific era was an opening to different forms of expression. To me art is a form of expression it allows creativity to come to life. I believe that drama, music, and politics, are all different forms of art. The renaissance era is a time frame where those types of expression became more popular. I think this is important to the progression of how art evolved and how we view art today.     This era of art created art to not be limited to just a certain form. Art is made to be different and it is suppose to give creators freedom of what type of expressions t...

Chapter 4: Literature

Image
Chapter 4: Overview "The word of a great poem just seem to have fallen into place by their own accord" (p.78) https://pixabay.com/illustrations/book-wisdom-story-art-literature-8858593/      This quote to me means that when writing poetry things will fall into place according to your thoughts and how you're trying to express yourself. Words of great poetry I believe take time to create. If for example we have an idea to write a poem, we may not have the right verbiage at the poem. However, with any great writing time is everything. I feel like finding the right idea of a poem can be the right way to let all of it come together in its own accord. Being able to let your thoughts take you to the point of writing a great poem. Illustration, rhyme, flow, all start within the writers creativity and all of which will fall into place.     Most of the great poets, have a big sense of creativity and style of writing. I think that those great poems all come about th...

Chapter 3: Myths and the origin of humanities

Image
Chapter 3 Overview "Our myths stay with us for life and grow up with us, fulfilling psychological needs at every stage of our development"(p.34) https://pixabay.com/illustrations/medusa-fantasy-fantasy-art-8076733/ This quote is something I feel like most people can relate to as we all have our own beliefs that we grow up with. Through out our childhood, based off culture, I feel like we hold on to certain myths and past them down from one generation to another. There is a lot of different ways in how certain myths are instilled upon us, and could actually go from a universal myth to personal beliefs. I think that at every stage of our development we do hold onto a myth. For example when we are kids and going through losing our first tooth. Some of us our told the tooth fairy will come at night if we put the tooth under our pillow and bring us money, and take the tooth. We then create a sense of happiness with having a loose tooth. We will start to anticipate the aftermath o...
